5G: The Future

Operating since 1999, IPKO Telecommunications holds the title of the leading internet and digital cable TV provider in Kosovo, both in terms of customers and network reach. In adition to this, IPKO owns the largest landline-fix network in Kosova with 350.000 ports available, while the number of customers in fix telephony is increasing constantly. Indeed we have heard about the success stories of IPKO, but do we know the man operating behind it? Robert Erzin has been a part of the raise of IPKO since 2011 with the duty of the Executive Director. He took over the company in a very challenging situation with over a year declining customer base. Over the last six years IPKO, directed by Robert managed to increase user base for more than 100%, and over this period IPKO became number one brand in telecommunication. Of course Robert couldn’t achieve all this without his early experience in Telekom Slovenije, where he managed departments and units in different business segments: network development, service development, regulatory, marketing, controlling, network operations etc.

We proudly announce that he will be joining this year’s KosICT conference, to inform us about his journey, as well as to share the ups and downs of his experiences within the company, and future plans. He studied economics and finished the business program at IMD Business School in Switzerland, to continue in Ljubljana where he finished computer science. Roberts’ career with the Slovenian company started at 1994. Initially he started working as a developer in network and transmission, continuing as a director in marketing, market research, pricing policy and service development for more than four years. Later he became director of pricing policies and regulator and after this in the position of director of the controlling department, network and infrastructure.
